Excitante & Sominium

There’s something quietly intoxicating about discovering a fragrance that doesn’t just sit on your skin, but actually moves with you. That’s exactly what I experienced with Excitant and Somnium.

Excitant was an easy yes for me. I ordered it instinctively, drawn to its composition of essential oils and the promise of something clean, uplifting, and energizing. It did not disappoint. From the first application, it feels light, almost airy, like a breath of fresh morning energy settling into your skin. There’s a clarity to it that makes it perfect for daytime wear, especially in spring and summer when you want something that enhances your presence without overpowering it. It’s the kind of fragrance that feels alive, effortless, and quietly radiant.

Somnium, on the other hand, took me on a different journey. My first impression was that it was heavy, which made sense given its richer concentration of base note essential oils. It didn’t immediately open up in the same way as Excitant. But then something interesting happened. As it settled, it began to transform. The depth softened, the layers revealed themselves, and what initially felt intense became undeniably luxurious and sophisticated.

Curious, I asked both my spouse and my son which they preferred, and without hesitation, they chose Somnium. That surprised me at first, but I understood it more the longer I wore it. There’s a magnetic quality to it, something warm and lingering that draws people in without trying too hard.

Now I find myself reaching for Somnium when I want to feel elevated, grounded, and a little bit indulgent. It’s a fragrance I would reserve for evenings or more intimate settings, unless you’re prepared for a few extra compliments during the workday.

Together, they create a beautiful balance. Excitant brings light, movement, and energy. Somnium brings depth, warmth, and presence. One feels like daylight, the other like a slow, glowing night
